Solar Energy Program

Patakuri Society has been working at hill areas of Srimangal, kamolgonjj,kulaura, baralekha and Moulvibazar including other two Upazillas of Moulvibazar District by providing solar energy since April 2009.
The goal of the program is to assist the communities to develop the capacity for managing and operating the solar home system and create awareness among the communities about the diverse use of renewable energy.

The key features of the program are as follows:

Reduction in indoors air pollution, as kerosene lamps are not using for illumination purposes.
There are additional income generation activities in the evening hours for the benefit of the communities.
There is a positive effect for better family planning and consequently reduction in population, as the communities will be better occupied the working hours.
Children as well as adults have better access to education.
There is a social harmony because of a better form of living.
